Isabella Mensz

Viola

Isabella Mensz began her musical studies at age four in her hometown of New Haven, Connecticut, before falling in love with and switching to the viola five years later. Since then, she has performed internationally in Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States, and appeared at festivals such as Aspen Music Festival, Bravo! Vail, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, Aurora Chamber Music, IMS Prussia Cove, Gstaad Menuhin Festival and Holland Music Sessions. Isabella is a member of the American Ballet Theatre Orchestra, Sarasota Opera Orchestra and Hudson Valley Symphony Orchestra. She performs performs regularly with the Philadelphia Orchestra and New Haven Symphony, and relishes every opportunity to play chamber music.

Isabella teaches violin, viola and chamber music to students of all ages, and is passionate about passing on the knowledge she has gained from her own mentors and teachers. She holds degrees from Peabody Institute, New England Conservatory, and Yale School of Music, where she studied with Victoria Chiang, Kim Kashkashian, Dimitri Murrath, and Ettore Causa.
