Violinist Mayuki Fukuhara began his musical studies at age seven and by age twelve had won the International Music Festival Grand Prix. He came to the United States as a scholarship student at the Curtis Institute of Music and later did post-graduate work at Mannes College of Music, studying under Ivan Galamian, Jaime Laredo, and Felix Galimir. He performs with several of the New York's most prestigious chamber orchestras, including Orpheus, Orchestra of St. Luke's, where he is a principal player, and others, and is a participating artist in such festivals as Marlboro, Caramoor, and the New England Bach Festival. Mr. Fukuhara spends his summers performing with the Seiji Ozawa Festival in Japan. His recordings are available on the Musical Heritage, Music Masters, and other labels.
