139 St. John’s Place, Park Slope
This program begins with a local voice, Brooklyn-based Argentine composer Carlos Pavan, as we perform the world premiere of his Stravinsky-inspired Divertimento for string quartet. Afterwards, we move to our composer in residence, Clarice Assad, and her work, Four Scenes. A work for string quartet, guitar, and flute, it explores the imaginary surroundings of the Romani people. Finally, sit back and enjoy the last installment of Felix Mendelssohn’s opus 44 string quartets, his joyful quartet in E flat Major.
